By voting, each participant will be drawing up a personal ranking of the ten objects that he or she considers to be the most beautiful among the one hundred items featured in the contest.
In order to vote, you should select your ten objects and list them in order of preference. All you have to do is drag the images of the objects of your choice to the form at the bottom of the page, and place them in the appropriate box according to the ranking position you wish to assign to each object. This way, each of your objects will score a number of points as follows: 10 points for the object you placed in box 1, 9 points for the one in box 2, and so on, down to your tenth object in box 10, which will score 1 point.
The winner of the competition will be the voter whose personal rankings match most closely the general rankings of the ten most-voted-for objects, calculated on the basis of all the personal rankings of all those who took part in the voting competition by the set closing date.
Each individual ranking will be given a score based on the following calculation:
Each of the ten ranking positions will score 10 points if there is a perfect match between the position of the object in the personal rankings and the position of the same object in the general rankings (if, for example, the object classified in fourth position in the general rankings was entered in box 4 at the time of voting).
One point will be deducted for each point of difference between the general and the personal rankings so that, going back to the earlier example, if the object ranked fourth in the general classification was placed in box 5 or box 3 in the voter's personal ranking, the voter would score 9 points (i.e. 10 - 1 = 9); if the voter placed the object in box 1, he would score 7 points (i.e. 10 - 3 = 7), and if he placed it in box 10 he would score 4 points (i.e. 10 - 6 = 4).
The winner is the voter with the highest score (in theory, 100 points, i.e. full ten-point scores).
If a tie score occurs, the winner will be the voter who identified an object judged as deserving to be entered in next year's Pulchra contest. In the event of further tie scores, the winner will be the voter with the highest number of 10-point scores. If tie scores persist, the winner will be the person who voted first.
